I likey likey...

I see cute stuff hanging off of chairs at Christmas all over the place!! I so wanted to make some for mine, but be a little off on the traditional side. They turned out quite supertacular I think! I'm stoked!

I've got the bug bad already...I'm already painting stuff & pulling out decorations! I know it's a little early, but OH WELL SNELL!!!

Public Announcement

Well, if you'll notice I've changed my countdown calender at the bottom of my blog (b/c I know you all pay soooo much attention to every aspect of my blog!?) to a countdown that reflects the last day of school instead of GRADUATION. Yes, I will still be graduating, BUT...I won't be finished with school.....
..........................
.........................
..........................???????????????????????????????????????

Yes for those of you who are asking, I AM crazy! I will be graduating as a family nurse practitioner in December, but I've decided to continue on with my freaking everlasting education. I've decided that family practice is just not for me. I took a job as a nurse practitioner in the Pediatric ICU where I currently work. However, in order for me to work in that unit, I have to have a more specialized degree in pediatric care. So i'll have another freakin year! Yep, ANOTHER YEAR OF SCHOOL????????????? WTH am I thinking? Who knows?

Anyway, I've decided that with all that, walking at graduation just isn't worth it. I'm not really finished & that is supposed to symbolize an END, of which I'm not at yet, and also ...been there, done that. Ya know? Anyway, so that is just a little info for you if you wanted it!?!

Off to another year of bitching about being sick of school....

I shall post yet another countdowner when I find out my new schedule!?!

Pumpkin Patch

We went for our annual trip to the pumpkin patch earlier this month. Except for this year we didn't go with our regular friends, we went with Logan's Daycare. My mom & I rode along & had a pretty good time. Logan was his usual self...lost my keys. That was fun. I know, I shouldn't have given them to him in the first place, but you know how that goes...shoulda, coulda, woulda...anyway.

Here are a few pics from that day. . .

First Annual Pizza & Pumpkin Night

We decided to try to start a little tradition this year with the kiddies. We are going to try to start having a yearly night of Pumpkin carving & eating Pizza a few nights before Trick-or-Treating. So it'll be named "Pizza & Pumpkins" or something like that! I hope that we have more friends involved next year!

Lori had the grand idea to carve these beautiful Pumpkins, got a  cool little kit to do it with, and. . .yeah, that didn't work out too well. those little kits are %$#*&, you know? So we just stuck it out with a regular ole knife & marker. I didn't think I would like gutting the pumpkin, but let me tell you...that is a good way to take out a little stress! Awesome!! I did both! ;)

Pics from the night. . .

Logan's got the pumpkins ready to go... & here is that aweful "cheese" face again? haha

Trick-or-Treat, Smell my Feet???

Someone fabulous that I love & loves me(name will remain unknow....DAD) taught my kid how to say the grand old saying of . . .

"Trick or Treat,
Smell My Feet,
Give me something Good to Eat"

Thank goodness it didn't go to the underwear part!!! Anyway, so that is how we started off our night on Halloween!! Little man had a blast! We really had a good time watching him & Acey getting into the Halloween spirit! They "rurnt" now!! They just love it! I can't wait to see them in action again next year! I thought they would still be more standoff-ish this year, but they weren't!

They are so excited by Lori's little brother, Jack. he is 7 years old, and you know they just think he is grown. I love watching them with him! They all had a great time after the night was over playing & laughing. Kiddos are just the best, right!? Oh but to live one day more with that kind of care free spirit!!

Here are a few pics from the night!!

Bad Blogger

I know it has been forever since a blog post, but school has been WHEW! Fabulous news on that...
  1. Took my last test ever in Family Nurse Practitioner school! Made a 98 by the way.
  2. My final project is complete & ready to be turned in! That means no more homework!
  3. I have 104 hours of clinical left, I know that sounds like a lot, but it's really not. Not compared to the 500+ already done this year!!
  4.  There are only 36 days left until the last day of school.
  5. There are only 48 days left until GRADUATION!!!!
  6. WHOOP WHOOP. I know that isn't supposed to be numbered, but hey...
So I'm hoping from this point on that I'll be a better blogger. If not. Tough sh#t. ;)

Cake Wreck

Lets just start with, it's going to be Logan's 3rd Birthday in a few days. Not to be all stupid/sappy or anything, but WHERE THE HELL DID THAT TIME GO? How has my precious baby turned into a English speaking, in-dirt-playing, wild, funny, monkey of a little KID? He's not even classified as a Toddler anymore...he's a kid!? It's nuts & its exciting & makes me a little sad at the same time! So there's my mommy whinning. Done.

To the matter at hand, birthday cake. We usually pay someone to do a birthday cake for Logan's birthday. This year I decided that is stupid. I'm not paying the stupid amount of money to do something that I should be capable of doing myself. You see that "should" word in the previous sentence. Well, you know I got to thinking, you can Google anything & I do mean ANYTHING these days (as a friend so hilariously pointed out to me the other night at dinner...I haven't thought something was so funny in a long time....Thanks to you know who you are & NO I'm not gonna blog what you googled!!!) Anyway...tangents are something I'm really good at! :) So, I googled a few tips on how to make a great cake. I'm thinking to my self, how hard can this be...I paint a little...sometimes those turn out alright. So I should be able to do the same with some icing right? Not so much. I gave it a little shot last night. Again...bad. So I will admit that the cake part was so awesome, and the cake does taste really good actually. Its. Just. Ugly. ;)

Have you seen those things on TV that make the Giant Cupcake Cakes? Well every time that commercial comes on TV Logan gets all excited & talks about how much he wants some "birthday" that looks like that! He calls cakes, "birthday"? So I got one for free at the market in Las Vegas, so I thought I would use this for this little Birthday cake.

Here you go. This belongs on the Cake Wrecks website.
Photobucket

However I must admit, my little research on google about how to make a moist cake, did work...This cake is Yummy!!! (even though it is so ugly)

Photobucket

Moral of this story...don't try to make a pretty cake. Not possible. ;)

1 Step Forward, 2 Steps Back. . .

Forward step. . .
Logan hit a huge milestone in his potty training efforts tonight. We usually don't go out in public without a pullup on, because he IS NOT going to tell you he has to go to the potty. He's been doing pretty good for the past couple of weeks at home of starting to actually tell us he has to go to the restroom. He asked me this evening if we could go to Bass Pro & since he hasn't been feeling well tonight...I just couldn't tell him no. So off we go to Bass Pro. I tried to put him in a pullup before we left, but he refused & insisted that we stay in his "big boy underwear". . . So I thought to myself "what the hell, it's just pee, I'll just take a change of clothes." Then we get all the way over to Bass pro & guess what I forgot. . .YOU GOT IT, A change of clothes! So I decide to give it a whirl anyway. About 45 minutes after we got there he blurts out "MOMMY, I GOTTA POTTY!". . . WHAT? I say to myself! YES YES YES!!! Whoot whoot! He has finally gotten it! He may be potty trained! I all but squealed in the store! I was stoked! We headed off to the bathroom & it all went just like it is supposed to! Woo HOO!!

So obviously I'm excited that my kid may have hit a milestone, we may be well on our way to NO MORE DIAPERS!! Woo Hoo! A step forward in life! I'm so proud of my little man. I decided to reward him with a little toy from bass pro, a toy pop gun, he picked out himself. I know I know...probably a bad choice but what the hell?

Step Backwards. . .
We get home from Bass Pro & continue on with our nightly ritual as usual. Bath, PJ's, ect...you get the point. Well after bath time, we are in his room getting ready to put on PJs & Logan finds this in his drawer. . .
Photobucket
I cannot get this thing away from him without him freaking out? He gave these things up at 9 months old all on his own. He just stopped taking a pacifier, now this? WTH?

Art

Art isn't just what you paint, it's what you snap! :) (and then carefully revise in a photo editing program!!) This one is so going on the wall. It is a picture of Logan & Acey at the zoo back in March. This one I LOVE!

The original post is HERE, but so you don't have to look back...this is the unedited version. It's still supercute...because they are of course...BUT I just can't leave well enough alone. (this should come as a real shocker to those of you who know me! he he he)

No Time to Pee?!

A few minutes ago I attempted to go t o the bathroom...alone. Big mistake.

Logan was sitting on the couch, totally in a trance watching SHREK! I don't even think he was blinking. He had a bowl of Cheerios in his lap. I thought,. . .he's totally hooked up & he won't move while I go to the bathroom...I mean, it's just to pee?

So off I go, only about 15 steps from where he was sitting on the couch. I bet it wasn't 2 seconds later & I hear, "uh-oh, Mommy...come clean it up". I thought, Oh Hell!?!

This is what I came in the room to find. . .

My Family Silhouette

How cute is this???  This is what happens when you get tired of studying & start blog stalking!!

Less Than 200 days!

I'm Counting Every Single Second!!

We are officially down to less than 200 days until graduation. If only I could feel like it were only 6 months away...it just feels so much further away than that. I can sometimes actually see a flickering of light at the end of the tunnel. Oh Light...here I come! :)

Oops

While I was sitting here in the bed not able to sleep & playing on my computer, I realized that I never posted my Easter Blog. I mean, I did it...just never actually posted it? Hum? Anyway...you can go HERE to read it.

Sweet Singer

So as most of you who know me, know that Craig is super shy when it comes to singing. He'll play his guitar for me all day long, but actually sing to me ...no. I've know him for 7 years & have been married to him for 5 & all of this time I have begged, I do mean BEGGED him to sing for me. No such luck. However I have heard him twice & this made it even worse...really wanting him to sing to me.

The first time I heard him it was on accident. He recorded himself, right after we got married, & forgot to erase it. I came home from working a night shift one morning & found our video camera sitting out. I had no idea why...so I had to check it out. There it was....Craig singing. He had the camera on the wall, so I couldn't watch him...but it was WONDERFUL. And me being me, of course I had to show him off. I let everyone I knew listen to it. Bless him, he was so embarrased. As soon as he got the chance, he chunked that tape!

The second time I heard him was at the Neshoba County Fair last summer. Why oh why he'll sing in front of all those people, but not me...well...it's beyond me. They were just sitting around playing guitar, so he had someone else playing guitar with him. So he said it's not the same thing, because he's not "on the spot".  He also says that he is more worried about what "I" think than anyone else. Whatever dude...

SoOoo, when he reads this blog he is gonna be so mad at me! :) He'll get over it...

So tonight, he cooked out on the grill. This is one of the few times that he drinks beer, and drinks when it is just the 2 of us. He's really only a social drinker. Anyway...so after getting a few beers in him, I tried to convince him that it would be of benefit to him to sing to me. He declined. So then I convinced him that if the lights were off, and I couldn't see him & he couldn't see me...that it would be like he was home alone & I couldn't "see" him sing. That worked!! Who knew? I would have done that a LONG time ago!

Now that I have heard that very sweet voice of his...it's over. I'm gonna harass that poor man for the rest of his life about singing to me. He'll never get a moments peace, because I'll be bringing him his guitar & demanding a performance. :) Poor guy.

Dear Craig,
You have a most beautiful, no . . . gorgeous voice. I would like for you to sing to me with that sweet voice every night for the rest of our lives.  This will make me a happy wife. (not that I'm not happy...just trying to make you feel the need to sing to me!) Thanks so much.
Love Always,
 Photobucket

This was him singing at the Neshoba Co. Fair last year. Doesn't he just look like a singer?? :)

Like I said earlier...he's so gonna kill me when he reads this post!

Love You Honey! ;)

Free Kitty Kitty!

So in the previous post, Introducing Calie, I talked about my sweet little Blackberry that died. Anyway, she had 3 kittens, one of which I'm keeping...Calie. The other 2 are so cute & sweet, but we need to give them away. I just can't keep that many kitties. They are about 2.5 months old.
This one looks completely black, but she actually has some light pin-stripes that are dark brown, really cool looking in the sunlight...which is about the only time that you can see the color variation.
