Show Us Your Life - What Beauty Products do you LOVE?

Yet another blog from Kelly's Korner junk that I read. I love this stuff. I just really love seeing everyone's entries to these Blog McLinkie things. Anyway. This week it is on "make-up tips & beauty secretes". Well for me, there are Zero Beauty secretes...so maybe I'll learn a few when I get a chance to read all of these links. But I can talk about a few items that I love. . .

Bare Minerals...It is the BEST stuff I have ever put on my face. This picture states it all...

Sleep in it?! That has got to be the best part. I am terribly bad about washing my face at night. I like to try to think I'll do it...but lets face it, there are just some things that we aren't good at. I'm kind of like a kid when it comes to going to bed. I fight sleep. I'll find 800 things to do at night INSTEAD of going to bed? Anyway, so by the time I'm ready to go..I'm dead tired & WAY to sleepy to worry about washing my face.  That was probably T.M.I., but that is why I like makeup that I can wear to bed that doesn't break me out! Yay Bare Minerals for making make-up just for me! :)

They also make some GREAT stuff called Mineral Veil...it is a light powder that goes on after you are dong putting on everything else. It's like a finishing buffer. It makes your make up look so much better, smoothes out your face...Just love it.

My next favorite thing, well I probably should have put this 1st, because it is my MOST favorite thing in the whole world as make-up goes. My FAVORITE lipgloss is by MAC & it's called LIPGLASS. The clear lipgloss is the shiniest lipgloss EVER! It is also sooooo sticky! You cannot wear this stuff on a windy day or you hair will be cemented to your lips. BUT...it is the best stuff ever. I also like the Glipglass colored lipgloss selection. Love Love Love MAC for making the best lipgloss ever!

Mac also makes great eyeshadows! Great colors that stay on great!!

My next thing to try out is a new product that a friend told me about called Eye Potion by Urban Decay.It is an eye primer that you put on before you put on your eye shadow & it keeps everything in place. She put this stuff on on day #1, fell asleep that night without washing her face (see, i'm not the only one) and it still looked the same the next day, no crease, no smudging....perfectly the same! I'm so gonna try this out! Gonna try to get some today actually! :) YAY! Let you know on how this goes...

Superbowl Shirt. . .

All of you know how much I love to do arts & crafts. I mainly like to paint on canvas, but the other day I gave t-shirts a whirl. Now I didn't have & don't have any plans to do t-shirts as a hobby, EVER, but...I had a reason. I picked Logan up from school on Thursday afternoon & they informed me that he needed (well not needed, but could) wear Super bowl gear to school Friday, because they were having a SB party. Well, me being me, I had no idea they were supposed to do that. Well it was raining its tail off on Thursday evening, but I was determined that my kiddo wasn't gonna be left out of the SB festivities. (because the 2 year olds in the class would totally know that he didn't have on a "super bowl" shirt!....I know I know.). I wasn't impressed with the shirt AT ALL that night when I was done, but it actually looked kinda cute on him. This will totally be my last dip into the t-shirt thing though....oh so not fun & totally not gratifying like painting is. Anyway, I told some of you that I would take some pics of the shirt. He did end up wearing it to schol on Friday, and I took some pictures of him in the back yard after he got home from school.

This was so much fun.... LOgan LOves running around outside...& it realy doesn't matter what type of ball he has....as long as he can throw, kick, hit it. Typical boy.

Simple Pleasures

One of the fabulous blogs that I read, Kelly's Korner, is having a McLinky Doohicky thing today about the "simple pleasures" in life. I thought I would join in on this one! :) I'm a RN in a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit...so sometimes I HAVE to focus on the pleasures of life...it's how you deal with the saddness. Don't get me wrong, we see tons of stuff that does great, but hey...it's life...there ARE bad things. ANYWAY...tangent. I thought I would share with my 3 readers some of my pleasures, they may not all be 'simple' but these are MY pleasures nonetheless.

• My life...I love it, I'm greatful for it, I have to constantly remind myself to thank God for all that he has blessed me with.
• My hubbs...The love of my life (on most days anyway...haha j/k Craig!). I don't know how I got so lucky! He is sweet to me beyond words! Thanks Craig!

• LOGAN BROOKS MAYO - this is our sweet, hilarious, wild, bull-headed, energetic, red-headed, brown-eyed 2 y/o little boy! LOVE HIM! We celebrated his 2nd birthday in October!
• Painting! It makes me HAPPY! I'm not a pro or anything like that...just L.O.V.E. to do it. Arts, Crafts...Any of that mess really.
• Getting in a WARM bed on a COLD  night! Oh how I love it to be cold in the house and snuggle up in your soft, cozy bed Whew! Heaven.
• Candles....smelly ones (good smelly obviously, not bad smelly! :)  )
• A good book in a hot bath with a great glass of wine.
• The way that Logan smiles at our pets. I know that I remember thinking that cats & dogs were just the coolest when i was little (don't get me wrong, still love 'em), but it is just fun to watch his eyes light up.

• The smell of fresh cut grass in the summer
• Hanging out with my wonderful friends (this is a truely missed pleasure right now because of grad school!)
• Margaritas
• Fresh Flowers in the house!! Wish I could afford to have fresh cut flowers all the time, everywhere!
• A Silent Night
• Sleeping in in the morning!
• A 'squeeze' (hug) from Logan followed by a kiss & 'I love you, mommy'...seriously? Does it get any better?
• The smell of coffee in the morning. I don't really drink coffee much, but when my mom is here she makes it.... I'm tempted to make coffee every night, set the timer...just so I can wake up to that smell!
• Holding Logan when he slept. He doesn't let me do this anymore, but I loved it.
• Rain at night. I LOVE to hear the rain fall! I'm a sucker for bad weather, not terrible...just bad.
• A clean house :)
• Phone calls from my mom at all times of the day! Love you Mama!
• A great day
• a good blog
• blog hopping
• PHOTOSHOP!
• Did I mention Logan? :)

Picture for School...

Okay, so most of you reaing this all know that I'm knee deep in the pits of school...And its all online! How gross is that? Anyway,...This semester they decided it would be a great thing for us to have to posts pictures of ourself. I don't know about you, but I don't have just a ton of pics that I want to post of JUST ME anymore....once a kiddo comes...they are always in the pics. Also, I don't think I have EVER had a ton of pics of JUST me anyway.... So I searched through all of my pictures and couldn't find ANYTHING that I could even crop for school. So Logan & I had a small photo shoot in my bedroom at the beginning of the semester. It was fun. Here are a few pics from that interesting little self shoot. This was all off of the timer on the camera too....try doing THAT with an impatient, hard headed, red headed, hiLARious, wants to hold the camera 2 year old! :) Whew...

And then then, the one pic for all that....JUST for school...humph...

how silly looking!? It says, Yes...I took my crazy pic in my room....just for you fools to know what I look like....someone that you will never know in your life....take an online class with....SURE....here I am!?

Big Boy Bed

Logan has officially moved to the big boy bed! We had NO intention of moving him out of his crib anytime soon. Then we decided to let my brother & sis-in-law use his crib for thier new arrival. I love love love for family stuff to get passed around. I think it is so awesome for several members of a family use the same baby furniture over and over again. It makes it all the more special to me....ANYWAY....So since Koen will be here in late February/early March I suppose it is time for Logan to get his bootay out of the crib. I mean, he is only 2 years and 3 months old... ;) Most kiddos are in a real bed by now, but hey....we're slow. So here are a few pics.....


We placed the bed against the wall the first night, because I was worried he would fall out....it is such a long way to the ground you know!
